About IF

Innovation Fisher (IF) is a graduate-level student organization at the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University focused on innovation practice. IF members are offered exposure to real world application of innovation practice, theory, and methodologies to complement Fisher innovation curriculum.

IF accomplishes this exposure through a series of skill-based workshops, site visits to innovation centers, innovation fellowships and both internal and external consulting engagements intended to provide tangible skill application opportunities for students. These opportunities are derived from a strong network of regional and national relationships between IF and organizations or individuals dedicated to the topic of innovation and the impact it can have on business practices.

Our goals are:

  • To educate students on the practice of innovation
  • To inspire our members to think beyond the confines of what they already know
  • To engage students and provide opportunities for real life application
  • To engage members in the larger Innovation Initiative within the Fisher College of Business

Student Membership Dues

  • 1 Year Membership: $20.
  • 2 Year Membership: $30.

History of IF

Innovation Fisher was founded in 2009 by David Shaw and Jenny Ziessman after taking Professor Michael Bills’ Innovation Practice course in the spring of that year. Inspired by the class to further pursue innovation as an area of study, the two founded the organization in hopes of providing current and future students with innovation-based experiences and education unique to the Fisher College of Business. The vision for the organization was and remains to be a facilitator of real world innovation experiences for students complementary to innovation-based course work in conjunction with the Fisher College of Business Innovation Initiative.
